Here is a gallery with a small selection of my Indian paintings. Some of them are completely traditional while others have a more surreal aspect to them. I studied all the fundamental techniques for Indian miniature painting under the guidance of Ram Krishna Sharma in the beautiful lake city of Udaipur, northern India.
Since then I have developed techniques for working on large scale Indian paintings while trying to maintain the magnificent translucence found in Indian miniatures, especially those painted on ivory.
With many of these compositions I have introduced an aged look to the paint surface to the extent that some of them have a fine craquelure running throughout the work, the objective here being to give them added beauty rather than to merely make them look antique.
